Part of a series of drawings that aim to simplify the subject to a single minimal continuous line. Perhaps surprisingly it takes many drawings to hone down the design to just this simple animal form. Each drawing is an experiment in simplifying the previous drawing until I am happy with the end result. This drawing was created using brush and ink on watercolour paper and was drawn in May 2018.
This is One of a number of Hare drawings I have produced of a similar design. Although similar, each is hand drawn by myself, sometimes using different tools as detailed in the description, as a result you will see slight variation in detail and line weight in each one.
Hares are a favourite subject matter of mine that I often return to when reconnecting with drawing, especially after spending sometime painting.
