‘A Poppy Field’ - Original Acrylic and mixed media landscape in an impressionistic style with ink, pencil and scratched details. The painting abstractly represents poppies and grasses painted in November 2018. Using an abstract base of vibrant acrylic colours I then worked on top of the colour base and began a process of subtraction, mostly through the use of white, until the forms of an abstract landscape emerge with Design, colour, value and texture in mind. The artwork was then developed further using pencils, ink, palette knives, and various mark making processes; the marks often reveal the energy with which my work is painted. 
Part of a series of works on 4mm Canvas board lacquered with a matt varnish. This painting is sold without the frame and is 20cm X 20cm or approx 8" X 8" and would look great mounted in a floating frame as shown.
